Transform a Life in One Night: A Heartfelt Fundraiser

Two months ago, On Saturday, April 27th, a remarkable event unfolded at the Royal Grammar School (RGS) as 35 members of our Second Form, accompanied by a courageous team of staff, braved the elements to sleep out overnight. The third successful year of this initiative, aimed at raising funds for Transform Housing & Support, was not an attempt to replicate homelessness but rather to offer a small glimpse into the challenges faced by those without the comforts of home.

The night proved to be a testament to resilience and solidarity as rain poured incessantly, yet the spirits of our participants remained unshaken. By dawn, all boys and staff were warm and dry, having endured the weather with determination and camaraderie. The collective effort culminated in an impressive fundraising total of £7,684.47, including Gift Aid.

The funds raised will significantly aid Transform Housing & Support in their mission to provide support and specialist housing to vulnerable individuals across Surrey, playing a crucial role in preventing homelessness.

The heartfelt thanks go out to all supporters, and especially to the boys and staff who sacrificed their Saturday night for such a meaningful cause. This event not only raised essential funds but also heightened awareness of the hardships faced by the homeless, fostering a greater sense of empathy and community spirit among all involved.
