Become a Resident Volunteer
Are you looking for a rewarding experience whilst living rent free? Are you over 21, able to provide consistent support to young people? Would you like to become part of breaking the cycle of homelessness that some young people fall into?
If the answer is “yes” then our Resident Volunteer role may be for you.
What it involves
As a Resident Volunteer you will live as part of a household, provide advice and a stable environment to our clients. In order to provide this support you will need to live in the property most of the time e.g. at least two weekends in any four and not spend more than two nights away from the property in any week.
What we offer: You will be provided rent free accommodation and ongoing advice and support from our highly experienced team to assist you in your duties. This includes regular individual support and review meetings. The scheme is covered by an on-call service which provides support in emergencies for Resident Volunteers, outside office hours.
Requirements for the role: Due to the vulnerability of the young people, an enhanced DBS (criminal records) check will be carried out beforehand.
Transform has had Resident Volunteers assisting with providing stability and support to vulnerable young people for over 20 years and many have found the role very rewarding. Without the help of our Resident Volunteers we would not be able to provide clients with the quality of support they need and deserve.
