Charity Christmas cards on sale!

With Christmas just over one month away, our charity Christmas cards for 2016 are now available to order! The cards feature artwork created by a former client of Transform. Proceeds raised from the card sales will support our work with homeless and vulnerable people in and around Surrey.

Clients were invited to send in their artwork for the Christmas card competition which launched in winter 2015. We received a number of entries from clients who face difficulties such as mental health issues, learning disabilities and homelessness. The winning entry was a painting called ‘Doves of Love’ by Sharron.

Before coming to Transform, Sharron was struggling with drug and alcohol dependency. An ex-partner hurt a member of her family and she turned to drink and drugs to block it out. Sharron moved in to a hostel run by us, where she lived with people who have been through similar experiences. Thanks to her hard work and support from our dedicated team, Sharron has been able to move on from Transform into her own flat.

Sharron said:

“I realised I wasn’t getting any better and I needed help. My keyworker got to the bottom of it all and encouraged me to go to therapy. I never thought it would help but it was the one thing that turned me round… I’ve now moved into my own flat, it’s really exciting! When I came to Transform all I wanted was a bed, but now I want so much more. I will always remember this place.”

Sharron decided to create a piece of artwork for the Christmas card competition, and was really pleased when she won:

“I recently entered the Transform Christmas card competition and won! I feel really proud – it’s nice to give something back. Transform were the first people to accept me for who I am, even though I kept fighting, they kept helping.”

Paul Mitchell, Chief Executive of Transform said:

“We received lots of fantastic entries this year and I would like to congratulate all the artists for their wide range of talents. Particular congratulations to Sharron on her achievement and stunning painting. I’m sure the cards will be very popular, and will raise essential funds to help us support homeless and vulnerable people across Surrey and beyond this Christmas.”

Each pack of Christmas cards costs £3.75 and contains 10 cards in total. Three packs can be ordered for £10.
