We are pleased to announce that a new Interim Chief Executive has joined Transform.
Carl Brazier is working closely with our current CEO, Lawrence Santcross to ensure a smooth handover ahead of Lawrence’s departure later this month following seven and a half years of outstanding leadership. Over the coming year, Carl will help guide Transform through the next stage of our development, building on the strong position the organisation is in today.
Carl brings more than 20 years’ senior leadership experience across housing associations, local authorities and ALMOs*. He has led organisations through periods of change, strengthened governance and regulatory performance, and delivered financial resilience while maintaining a clear focus on services for residents and vulnerable communities. He is recognised for his open, collaborative and visible leadership style, and for his deep understanding of the housing, support and care landscape.
Speaking about his new appointment, Carl said:
I have been looking forward to joining Transform and meeting all my new colleagues. From my involvement so far, it is clear that Transform is a strong organisation undertaking very valuable work for clients.
I have worked in housing for 30 years across councils, ALMOs and housing associations of varying scale, including leading both an ALMO and a housing association. In previous roles, the organisations I’ve led have received national recognition for their work, and I hope that experience will be helpful as Transform moves into its next phase.
Outside work, family life keeps me grounded and focused on what really matters. My family has direct experience of some of the challenges many of the people we support face, and that perspective is important to me.
Chair of Transform Ollie Smedley said the Board was delighted Carl was joining Transform.
“Carl impressed strongly throughout the recruitment process and demonstrated the judgement and experience we need for this next phase. I am confident he will provide steady leadership and build on the strong foundations already in place,” he added. “I would like to thank everyone who was involved in the process, particularly our Client Forum members who gave their time and valuable input."
“I would also like to thank Lawrence for his exceptional service and partnership during his time as Chief Executive. Transform is in a strong position today because of his commitment and care for colleagues and clients alike, and we wish him every success and happiness for the future. The Board and all Transform colleagues wish Lawrence the very best for the future.”
