Daughter of Transform founder visits Farnham team

Corinne Pearce, daughter of our founding director Bruce Pearce, paid a visit to Transform Housing & Support’s Farnham team on Friday 17 June.

Transform provides housing and support for more than 75 homeless and vulnerable people across 14 properties in the Farnham area. Corinne took a tour of several of these properties, accompanied by Transform Chief Executive Paul Mitchell, and spent time talking to staff and clients.

Bruce Pearce was a probation officer who was seconded to Surrey Community Development Trust (as we were then) between 1971 and 1976. He helped to establish hostels for ex-offenders and homeless people throughout Surrey, including Hawkins House in Farnham, which was one of the properties visited by Corinne. Bruce sadly passed away unexpectedly at the end of 2010.

Corinne said of the visit:

"This was a very special visit for me. I was last at Hawkins House forty years ago when the building had just been bought by Surrey Community Development Trust and was in the process of being decorated by my probation officer father, in his spare time! During my visit I met with four men who are current residents at Hawkins House. I left feeling convinced that Transform Housing & Support can make a real difference in people's lives."
