David Turner appointed Chairman of Transform

Transform Housing & Support has appointed David Turner as Chairman of the Board of Trustees at its Annual General Meeting on Thursday 26 September.

David takes over from Elizabeth Kennedy, who has served as Chair since 2010. Elizabeth will now take the position of Vice Chairman, along with David Steeds.

David Turner became a Trustee of Transform in 2011 and has been Vice Chair since January 2012. He is also Chairman of Genesis Homes and is on the Boards of Genesis Housing Group, Falcon Property Trust and Sir John Cass’s Foundation.

David said:

“I feel very privileged to be appointed to this role and to lead a Board of Trustees that is committed to supporting the excellent work of Transform’s staff, who work hard to transform the lives of so many homeless and vulnerable people in our local communities.

“Last year Transform celebrated its 40th birthday and my predecessor in this role, Elizabeth Kennedy, has done much to raise our profile and give tireless support to Transform's management team. I would like to thank Elizabeth for her significant contribution to Transform over the past three years."

David has extensive experience of providing strategic leadership in both the public and private sectors. He was Group Property Director for Barclays Bank, was Chairman of global engineering and environmental consulting company WSP Group plc, and has held senior non-executive director roles including the Royal Mail, the Government Car & Despatch Agency, The Office of Government Commerce, Falcon Management Limited. David was Deputy Pro Chancellor of City University London for six years.
