The garden at one of Transform’s shared houses for homeless young people has been ‘transformed’, thanks to a group of volunteers from ExxonMobil.
The volunteers carried out a garden makeover as part of the company’s Day of Caring programme. Each year ExxonMobil gives employees the chance to take a day out of the office to volunteer in hands-on projects to help local community groups.
The group of 10 staff cleared rubble and weeds, put down gravel and bark, and planted flowers, shrubs and herbs. ExxonMobil donated materials and plants for the project and has provided tools so that residents can keep the garden maintained.
Eleanor March, Communications and Fundraising Manager, said:
“We are so grateful to the volunteers from ExxonMobil for all their hard work in transforming our garden. It is amazing what a difference they have made in just one day. The residents will really enjoy spending time in this beautiful, welcoming garden.”
