Garden cake sale raises record £1,200 for Transform

A charity tea and cake sale during a garden open day at Dunsborough Park has raised £1,226 for Transform Housing & Support.

Volunteers from Transform served tea, coffee and homemade cakes for visitors to the Dunsborough Park Garden Open Day on Saturday 31 May. Clients, staff, board members, supporters and friends of Transform baked cakes to support the event.

More than 400 people visited the garden during the open day, including the Mayor of Reigate & Banstead Cllr Dr Lynne Hack and Mayor of Waverley Cllr Liz Wheatley.

This is the highest amount ever raised by a charity tea held at the venue. The money raised will support our work with homeless and vulnerable people across the Surrey area.

Paul Mitchell, Chief Executive of Transform Housing & Support, said:

“We are very grateful to everyone who came to Dunsborough Park on Saturday and supported Transform. I would especially like to thank Baron and Baroness Sweerts de Landas Wyborgh, the owners of Dunsborough Park, for their generous support. This event was a great opportunity to raise essential funds for Transform’s work, while also raising awareness of the needs of the homeless and vulnerable people we support.”

The gardens at Dunsborough Park were open as part of the National Gardens Scheme programme, which raises money to support a range of charities across the UK. Dunsborough Park holds several open days throughout the year, with next day planned for Saturday 13 September from 1pm to 5.30pm.  For more details visit: www.dunsboroughpark.com or www.arch-charity.org.uk
