Merger confirmed

We are pleased to announce that the proposed merger between the Transform Housing & Support and Cherchefelle Housing Association, originally announced in October 2015, has now been finalised.

Transform and Cherchefelle have worked together over many years with mutual respect and both organisations share similar values and commitment to make a difference in the lives of people helped.

The boards of both organisations recognised a stronger future together under the name Transform Housing & Support. The merged organisation will see 211 staff supporting 1,382 people in Surrey, Berkshire, Hampshire, West Sussex, Sutton and Richmond upon Thames. These combined resources will enable more people to be supported in the coming years with housing, support and care services.

Paul Mitchell, Chief Executive of Transform Housing & Support, said:

“This merger has brought together two well-respected local organisations that provide housing and support for people in need in our communities. In addition Transform now also provides home care in people’s own homes. We are combining the best from both Transform and Cherchefelle, and creating an organisation that is sustainable and independent for the future. This will ensure we provide the best possible outcomes for the people we support and through our greater strength we can look to deliver more opportunities for new housing and services in the future.”

Martin Bellinger, the previous Chief Executive of Cherchefelle Housing Association, and now the newly appointed Deputy Chief Executive of Transform, added:

“Cherchefelle and Transform were founded in 1970 and 1972 respectively and share similar values and approach. Both organisations work to enhance the lives of local people, supporting them to live more independently. We look forward to working as one organisation to transform even more lives.”

The merger has been approved by the Homes and Communities Agency.

Transform Housing & Support is now a registered provider under the Care Quality Commission.
