Staff and customers at Sainsbury’s Brookwood have raised £4,022 for Transform Housing & Support as part of a year-long partnership.
On Monday 20 May, staff from the store presented a cheque to celebrate the success of the partnership. They also gave food parcels for Transform clients, donated by Sainsbury’s customers.
During the year, staff and customers took part in a number of fundraising activities to support Transform’s work with vulnerable young people in the Woking area. Highlights included bag packing days, staff quiz nights, a £500 community grant, and food donations by customers for starter packs given to new residents.
Theresa Duckett, Project Manager at Transform Housing & Support, said:
“Working with Sainsbury’s Brookwood over the last 12 months has made a really big difference to the homeless and vulnerable young people that Transform helps. Thanks to the generous support of Sainsbury’s colleagues and customers, we’ve raised a fantastic amount towards our work in the Woking area. We’re really grateful and look forward to working with Sainsbury’s Brookwood in future.”
Store Manager Mark Salmon added:
“From colleague fundraising to the many activities that we’ve held, our customers have been driving force in making our fundraising efforts for Transform Housing & Support. The money we’ve raised is really going to help a local charity that’s close to many people’s hearts in Woking.”
