Swimathon raises £2,000

Transform Housing & Support has received a donation of £2,000 from the Rotary Club of Woking Swimathon 2014.

The Rotary Club presented the donation at a celebration lunch held at Hoebridge Golf Club on Monday 16 March. Transform was represented at the lunch by Chief Executive Paul Mitchell and Supported Housing Worker Karen Forshaw, who also swam in the event.

Transform was one of six charities to be supported by the fundraising event, which took place in October 2014. Transform entered four teams in the event who swam a fantastic 428 lengths between them.

The donation will support homeless and vulnerable young people living with Transform in Woking, allowing us to provide crisis and hardship grants, organise healthy living activities such as cooking clubs, and help young people to get into education and employment.

Transform Chief Executive Paul Mitchell said:

“I would like to say a huge thank you to the Rotary Club of Woking for this very generous donation, which will support homeless and vulnerable young people in the Woking area. I would also like to thank all the volunteers, swimmers and sponsors who made the event possible.”
