Transform expands presence in Dorking with acquisition of small housing association

In a move which further bolsters its activity in Dorking, Transform Housing & Support has taken over a small housing association in the area. The transfer, which was finalised on 30 December, has seen Transform acquire nine units spread across three properties previously owned by CODHAL (Churches of Dorking Housing Association Ltd).

Established in 1981, CODHAL has been dedicated for over four decades to providing housing and some support for people affected by domestic violence or in recovery from alcohol misuse.

Recognising shared values and a mutual commitment to providing housing and support for vulnerable individuals in the community, CODHAL approached Transform last year with a proposal for the transfer of its properties. After consultations with both organisations – including the clients residing in the CODHAL properties – it was unanimously agreed that the transfer would be beneficial and therefore in the best interest of both organisations.

With this transfer, Transform hopes to further its position as a key player in Surrey’s social housing sector, dedicated to providing excellent housing and support.

Head of Housing & Support Natalie Murphy said of the transfer:

For Transform, the acquisition signifies an expansion of our activities in Dorking. Most importantly, though, it ensures the continuity of safe and secure housing for the former clients of CODHAL, aligning with Transform's commitment to enabling people to lead independent and fulfilling lives.
