Transform helps people to ‘live well and spend less’

People in Wokingham can find out how to ‘live well and spend less’ thanks to an event organised by Transform Housing & Support.

Live Well – Spend Less is a free event taking place on Wednesday 30 April at the Bradbury Centre in Wokingham. It is hosted by Transform, in partnership with Wokingham Borough Council and several other local agencies.

The event aims to tackle financial hardship and help people to stay healthy on a budget. The information will be presented in a fun and informal way, with presentations on topics such as benefits changes, energy saving and avoiding food waste.

Local organisations will have stalls at the event to give information about the support they can offer, including:

  • Citizens Advice Bureau
  • DWP Jobcentre Plus Bracknell
  • Age UK
  • Wokingham and Bracknell College
  • Healthwatch
  • Transition Wokingham (children’s allotments and a community orchard)
  • First Days (free baby and toddler equipment)
  • Various services from Wokingham Borough Council

The event is open to all residents of the Wokingham borough and is free to attend. There will be two sessions: 1pm-3.30pm and 6pm-8.30pm. To book your place please call 0118 978 7750 or email wokingham@transformhousing.org.uk.

In Wokingham, Transform helps hundreds of vulnerable people who are at risk of homelessness as well as providing housing and support to over 30 people with mental health issues. Each person receives specialist support from Transform staff to overcome the issues they face and rebuild their lives.

The event is supported by Wokingham Borough Council and Martin & Pole estate agents, with refreshments kindly being provided by Tesco Wokingham.
