Transform team in Sutton holds double celebration

Transform Housing & Support in Sutton held a double celebration on Thursday 21 July, to mark the launch of our new name and the 25th anniversary of our work in the area.

Around 20 staff and clients came to a barbeque at a Transform housing project in Sutton. Paul Mitchell, Chief Executive of Transform Housing & Support, cut a cake decorated with the new logo to mark the name change.

Transform provides supported accommodation for 100 homeless and vulnerable people in Sutton. We have worked in the area since 1986, so 2011 is the Sutton team’s 25th anniversary.

One of the people that the Transform team in Sutton has helped is Alan. He had a history of depression and anxiety and had run up large debts. He moved into one of Transform’s flats, where he received support to deal with the issues he was facing.

“Transform helped me learn how to stand on my own two feet. I learned how to budget better and I sorted out my creditors. Now I’m a lot happier and more in control. I still get down but can pick myself up within a couple of days. I’ve maintained my job and haven’t been absent from work for nearly three years. Transform has made a big difference to me.”
