Our fundraising walk at Painshill on Sunday 12 May raised over £500 for Transform Housing & Support.
Around 100 people joined the STEP OUT for homelessness walk to support Transform’s work with homeless and vulnerable people. Among the walkers were High Sheriff of Surrey Dr Helen Bowcock DL, Mayor of Guildford Cllr Diana Lockyer-Nibbs and several Transform clients.
Walkers enjoyed a tour of Painshill’s elegant 18th century landscape garden. After the walk there was a family fun day, including face-painting, games, colouring and a raffle.
The money raised at the event will support Transform’s work with homeless and vulnerable people in and around Surrey. We help more than 1,000 people each year who are affected by learning disabilities, mental health issues and drug or alcohol dependency, as well as vulnerable young people.

“Many of us would like to think that homelessness is not a problem in Surrey. Sadly this is not the case and Transform provides homes for hundreds of people each year who have nowhere else to go. We give people one-to-one support to build up their skills and confidence, so they can get their lives back on track.
“I would like to thank everyone who came along on Sunday to enjoy the beautiful landscape at Painshill in bright sunshine. It was great to see so many people showing their support for this important cause. We are very grateful to the Painshill Park Trust for supporting this event.”
