Waverley Mayor joins Farnham BBQ

The Mayor and Mayoress of Waverley joined Transform clients and staff in Farnham for a summer BBQ.

Cllr Richard Gates visited one of the charity’s Farnham properties on Thursday 1 September and cut a ribbon to officially launch our new name. Cllr and Mrs Gates spent time talking to some of the clients that Transform helps in the Farnham area.

Several former clients came back to visit for the event, including Ryan, who received support from Transform following an accident that left him with paraplegia. Ryan wanted to live more independently but needed support to do so. He moved to a Transform flat in Farnham, where staff helped him adjust to living on his own again:

“Life at the time was hard, getting used to life with my injuries and coming to terms with my health problems. I needed support to live alone to see how I could cope with changes. Transform helped me get my life back on track. I was set goals to achieve which gave me something to aim towards. They supported me when I needed help and aided and guided me to where I am today. Now I want to keep moving forward and get a normal life back.”
