Young people’s house opens in Leatherhead

A new housing project run by Transform Housing & Support will help homeless young people in Leatherhead to get their lives back on track.

Our new project will provide homes for three homeless young people, in a shared house. Each client will receive one-to-one support from Transform staff to help them get their lives back on track. We will help the young people to gain practical life skills, build up their confidence, and access training, education and employment.

Paul Mitchell, Chief Executive of Transform Housing & Support, said:

"There is a desperate need for more housing for homeless young people in Surrey. More and more young people are ending up living in emergency accommodation, ‘sofa surfing’, or even sleeping rough."

"At an age when many young people would be focusing on education or work, they are instead having to worry about where they are going to sleep each night. Which is why we are extremely grateful to everyone who has donated and supported this new project, so that vulnerable young people can have a warm and safe home, with support from our staff."
